Thursday Night Movie = Moulin Rouge!

The winner of the poll is “Moulin Rouge”! (Never fear – we’ll watch the other films eventually.) But for now, we must prepare to go gloriously, blissfully 100% over the top with Baz Luhrmann, Nicole Kidman and Ewan McGregor. Brush up your top hats; fluff your feather boas. Thursday night, beginning at 8:30 CST, we watch together on Twitter!  Prepare to snark, but with love – I only watch movies with you guys that I love. (I’d never subject you to a turkey, I promise.)

Robert Galbraith, or, why pseudonyms are awesome

So, over the weekend, we all learned that JK Rowling had a new book out — and, in fact, that book had been out for some time. The world’s most famous author had slipped a detective novel onto the market without anyone knowing, by using a pseudonym, “Robert Galbraith.” And apparently a lot of people are slightly weirded out by that?

Second Comic-Con Panel added –

Just a quick note for those of you who are coming to Comic-Con in San Diego next week: I’ll now be appearing on a second panel. If you can’t join us on Thursday at 10:30 a.m. for Paranormal Passions, then maybe you can come to the Harper Epic Reads Publisher Preview on Saturday at 7 p.m. (room 9). That’s where you’ll be able to get the scoop on STEADFAST! And, of course, you could be super awesome and come to both panels. Why not? And remember, I’ll be signing on Thursday at noon, table AA09.

My Comic-Con Schedule!

Are you guys starting to get excited about Comic-Con yet? Every single time I look at the schedule, I get dazzled. Do I want to go to the panel for “The Tomorrow People”? “The Originals”? “Gravity”? Or the reunion panel for “The X-Files”? So excited was I by all the options that it took me a while to figure out my own schedule for the event —

What happens after the first draft?

On Tuesday I finished the first draft of my latest WIP, the right-now-untitled first book in the upcoming FIREBIRD trilogy. And there was much rejoicing! In celebration I took two days off — and now, the work begins again.

The Hunger Games Livetweet — so far!

So, the Hunger Games rewatch ran afoul of the mysterious High Gods of Twitter; apparently in my zeal to both tweet my way through the movie AND reply to all those of you who were sending me such hysterical comments, I broke the invisible boundary between “enthusiastic Twitter user” and “Internet criminal.” Therefore we had to take a break, which means the second half of the rewatch will be this Thursday at 8 CST. We get to watch Hunger Games two nights instead of one, so maybe that’s actually a plus? Anyway, I thought some of you who missed the first half might be interested to see how far we got —
